Transportation to the airport and back again!

At our first meeting everyone expressed interest in renting a bus to take us from Hatfield to Logan and back again.  I went ahead and set that up.  We have a bus all set to pick us up at Smith Academy on February 16. The bus will be leaving at 6:30 a.m.  We will be picked up after our trip at Logan airport and we will be brought back to Smith Academy on February 24.   The bus will be large enough to accommodate us and all of our luggage.  The cost of the bus will be $45, much less than we originally thought!  Please pay me for the airport transportation, not Amped for Education, as I have used my personal credit card to reserve and pay for the bus.  Thank you!

Baggage

In class some students were asking me about checking baggage.  We are flying on Delta and for flights to Central America they charge $25 for the first checked bag, so if travelers can just bring their carry on backpack that would be ideal.  Also, hauling lots of luggage around is not fun, so the lighter everyone can pack, the better!

Trip dates and more!

Hi everyone!  I have some good news to share...the dates of our trip are February 16-24.  The not-so good news is that the flights are to and from Boston, so we have quite a journey ahead of us!  However, the cost of the airfare is $700 ($105 less than the Hartford flights we were hoping for), so this means that if we rent a bus to take us from Smith Academy to Boston and back again we should still be under the cost I quoted you at the last meeting.  I will be arranging the bus next week and will share the details as soon as I can.

Remember, our next meeting is 11/19 at 2:30 at Fishtales.  At this meeting, Mr Pluta will describe the options for excursions and we'll decide which ones we'll most likely do, so be there if you want to voice your opinion!

Don't forget to get your passport applications in, to make your appointments at the travel clinic for your vaccinations and to get your volunteer forms in!

Tonight's meeting

Hi all!  Just a reminder that we have a meeting tonight at 7:00 in room 95 at Smith Academy.  If you have it, please bring your passport with you.  We can fill out some of the paperwork tonight electronically if you haven't already filled out the paper forms that I handed out at the last meeting.  Here are the links to those forms if you want to fill them out and submit them on your own:
